2023 Community Event
at the Cinema Center

On May 4, 2023, Lisa's Legacy hosted a fundraising event at the Fort Wayne Cinema Center from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The evening brought supporters together for a meaningful time of community, reflection, and generosity in support of individuals and families coping with grief.

The event began with a social hour featuring a PowerPoint loop recognizing event sponsors, along with a QR code to make donations easy and accessible for guests. Attendees also enjoyed a scrumptious buffet prepared by Walnut Hill Catering before moving into the evening's featured program.

The film selected for the event was Land, a story about a woman grieving the loss of her husband and son, who retreats to the Rocky Mountains in search of solitude. As the story unfolds, she discovers how difficult it is to face grief alone and how important support, connection, and hope can be during a time of deep loss. The film's message closely reflected Lisa's Legacy's mission to remind grieving individuals that they do not have to walk through loss alone.

Approximately $5,000 was raised through the event. One hundred percent of the proceeds were dedicated to the creation of Lisa's Legacy grief bags and the supportive items included in them for all ages. These grief bags are provided free of charge to individuals and families, and contributions to Lisa's Legacy help make that possible.
